Five different collections of soft smooth plied thread which works well on cotton and linen, and beautifully on wool. I have dyed these sets to offer you lots of variation.

Three acid-dyed sets and the ‘Indigo’ sets are in a blend of Blue Faced Leicester wool and silk which offers good coverage and a soft sheen to your stitches.

Length: 24 metres each skein (96 in total)

Content: 55% BFL 45% Silk

Thickness: plied thread - about equivalent to using three out of the six plies of a standard embroidery floss

The ‘Indigo B’ sets are dyed on Cupro* which is gentle as silk on the hands but strong, with the ply creating a plump rounded thread. Skeins are shades in pale, medium and dark as well as a dip dyed version.

Length: 25 metres each skein (100 in total)

Content: 100% recycled cotton*

Thickness: plied thread - about equivalent to using two out of the six plies of a standard embroidery floss

*Cupro is a type of rayon made by dissolving cotton cellulose with cuprammonium salts and spinning the resulting solution into filaments. The chemicals used are free of compounds toxic to health or the environment. Cupro is biodegradable.

Posted by Elaine D on October 4 2024 at 15:21Beautiful thread to sew with.
wool silk thread*****Posted by Maura T on April 9 2024 at 22:47I got a skein of this thread in one of my subscription boxes and had to get some more , it had a lovely feel to it . It slid nicely through the cloth I was embroidering . it had a lovely sheen and I found it didnt snag . The subtle variegation means that you dont have to keep changing thread when you want a nice gradation ie in flower petals or stalks and leaves. I used it to stitch strips of sari ribbon onto a loosely woven calico to make an imaginative landscape type picture. It will eventually become a little drawstring pouch.

Never met a stripe I didn’t like…
Ok, that’s not entirely true but I’m very happily knitting them in grey and charcoal this holiday time🤗
🐾🌷
Enjoying a gentle afternoon in front of the fire with a book in my hand and a dog at my feet.
This is what I have been waiting for….🙏🏻
Also loving the architectural elegance of my gift-to-self £5 bunch of Lidl tulips on the windowsill.

Sending you comfort and joy from our tiny corner of the world ❤️🐾
Happy post day!
My new @thosejoestoes slippers kit in jolly festive red has just arrived
Not too taxing - may be able to stitch them and drink a cheeky port at the same time…what could possibly go wrong?🤔
🌞🐾
A gentle morning walk with Bruce as the sun rose on the second shortest day of the year. Blissful!

I first posted pics of my pretty gifted flowers on 5th November.
Yesterday was shed-all-the-petals day - such beauty in decay.

Looking forward to spending many contented hours here this winter.
Books, knitting, stitching, too much coffee, a big black dog frequently blocking the heat.
