All these threads I have hand dyed with indigo

Cupro - A B C D

This recycled cotton is gentle as silk on the hands but strong, with the ply creating a plump rounded thread. Skeins are shades in pale, medium and dark as well as a dip dyed version.

Length: 25 metres   Content: 100% recycled cotton*

Thickness: plied thread - about equivalent to using two out of the six plies of a standard embroidery floss

*Cupro is a type of rayon made by dissolving cotton cellulose with cuprammonium salts and spinning the resulting solution into filaments. The chemicals used are free of compounds toxic to health or the environment. Cupro is biodegradable.

Silk - E F

Smooth dip dyed silk in two weights -

Fine E is approximately equivalent to No 10 cotton perle

Medium F is approximately equivalent to No 8 cotton perle

Length: 25 yards  Content: 100% silk

Linen Lace Thread - G H

These threads are rare vintage Swedish linen for lace making and are offered in two dip dyed options - Subtle G and Bold H

Thickness: like machine sewing thread

Length: 25 metres, in 50 pre-cut 0.5m lengths      Content: 100% linen

Hand Spun - J

This is the joker in the pack! A single ply thick and thin hand spun silk perfect for couching down in mixed media pieces or adding as a feature weft in a small tapestry.

Thickness: between 1mm and 4mm in diameter, approximately

Length: 20 yards      Content: 100% silk

indigo dyed cupro*****Posted by Maura T on April 9 2024 at 22:52Lindsay has some lovely threads-- I had never heard of cupro before , it is a really lovely stitching thread with a nice "feel" and also from recycled cotton! In view of its recycled history I will be using it along with textiles that are repurposed or recycled thrift shop finds . arrived quickly and as usual -- beautifully packaged - it felt like I was getting a surprise gift! lovely experience!

Stitching at the kitchen table tonight.
Small project, wonky stitches, no rules.
Finally finished the simplest shawl(ette) and it’s off for a wee bath. May show it off when it’s blocked🤗
Just before the heavens opened on us.
Again!
Morning walks with Bruce🐾

New bundles in the shop!
Lots of blues, lots of birds - bit of a theme…
Each bundle is a one-off mix of fabrics, threads and finished items - often sample pieces I’ve made - and always a little extra tucked in the box too😘

Wednesday windowsill - garden gleanings and my own wee stash of hand dyed threads from favourite dyers🧵🤗🧵

A coffee break with slow knitting.
My new mug from recent travels perfectly captures west coast beach colours on a sunny day🤗
🐾
Sunday morning chillin’
Back from a mini trip to Oban, Mull and Iona where the air was fresh, and the skies clear (most days).
Walked along shorelines and past fields full of wildflowers, watched sunsets across calm waters, took four ferries, tested cake assiduously, and acquired a little yarn.

Most importantly I made great connections for future @rowantreetravel tours🤗
