Card Purses

These are cotton - all hand dyed, woven and assembled by members of the Womens’’s Skills Development Organisation based in Pokhara in Nepal. I enjoyed visiting them and seeing all the processes...and the finished goods!

All the purses have a cotton lining, a zip fastening and a braided cotton loop. They measure 12.5cm x 9.5cm approx

They are all different and I have categorised them depending on the colour of the top band. There are multiple blues/greens, some variation in the reds and the blacks are all black.

Inside each purse I’ve popped six irresistable wooden parrot buttons and six handmade coconut shell star buttons

A wee Sunday windowsill with all the shades from my unkempt garden.
I know they won’t live long indoors but they make me happy🤗

Happiness is… a fresh supply of my ‘superfood’ granola!

You may scoff, but toasted oats and seeds and nuts and cacao and cinnamon and a pinch of salt, dried fruit, honey and some oil is my ‘food of the gods’
😋🤗😁

Recent read and current read
My intentions are good but I just don’t read as many books as I used to.
I hope that can change as there are stacks of ‘em in the queue.

This early collection of Claire Keegan’s was as good as you’d expect - carefully crafted, not a wasted word.
And now I’m savouring artist James Roberts’ use of language in his contemplation of dawn and dusk in all their magnitude.
