Inspired by India! My stitch kits contain the ingredients to embroider a mobile phone or spectacles case in striking indigo block print fabrics.

***low UK postage - see below ***

I was delighted to find these two bold prints - they are created using the dabu printing process and they are 'perfectly imperfect'. Embrace those imperfections - they are what give handmade textiles life.

In Jaipur naturally occurring clay/mud is mixed with gum arabic and lime water to form a print paste. The print block is dipped in the paste and applied to the cotton fabric. Once dry it forms a resist so that when the fabric is dyed with indigo, the paste keeps the underlying areas clear of dye.

I've designed this kit to be as easy as possible. There are guidelines but no rules. Work into either of the pieces with any stitches you like. The images on the back of the pack are suggestions only. Use the embroidery cotton, add your own threads to the mix or even leave it unstitched.

Line the case with the other block print (or save it for a different project and use another fabric inside instead).

The kit contains:

one grid pattern dabu block print cotton

one dot pattern dabu block print cotton

cotton interlining

two skeins of embroidery thread (one cream and one other) and a needle

full sized template to cut out

instructions to make a glasses or mobile phone case

*** If you are buying just one kit select the UK stitch kit rate at checkout***

You will receive a kit with your choice of threads
