Ground Walnut Shell

If you don't, I am here to enlighten you that ground walnut shell is an excellent filler for pincushions and heat packs. Ground to approximately granulated sugar grain size, the shells have a weightiness to them so pins and needles sit upright in a filled pincushion, with the bonus that the act of pushing them in keeps them sharp. That weightiness also mean that a heat pack will shape itself to the body.

Packed in a brown paper bag, tied up with string, a pack weighs 200gm.

The pincushion shown is 12cm square and contains just under 200gm.
