Our price: £35.00
Quantity:

A joyfully stitched ‘saddlebag’ full of colour and mirrorwork.

This has been assembled from two separate pieces of stitchery originating in Kutch, Western Gujarat. The embroidery has been worked on handspun, handwoven cotton and bordered with a striped fabric. There are some unfinished areas, where the pattern has been marked out but awaits stitching. The back and front have been sewn together to make a large bag used for storing household linens.

It measures 76cm high x 46cm wide.

Fill it to make a large sofa pillow, take it apart to create two cushion covers or generous tote bags, brighten a chair back or a dark corner.

Truly Slow Stitching…
This quilt has been in the making for a few years. I’ve embroidered into each of the squares, usually during winters, and never with any need to hurry the process.

The simple geometric block prints on khadi cotton were acquired from @the_stitching_project .

In a few months I’ll add some sashing in a red chambray khadi cotton, and then get the quilt finished…probably…😉
I was really chuffed to get to the “Into the Woods” exhibition of work by East Lothian Embroiderers and Textile Artists at @dukes_of_west_barns today. It is on over the weekend and the quality and range of work is lovely.
Oooh, and a sales table… look at these stitched cork-backed coasters and the tree cards that came home with me.
Lots of interesting artwork and covetable pottery in the main gallery too. Next visit I’ll leave time check out the cafe🤗

I spent today driving about in the sunshine, checking out venues for new tours.
Caught up with lovely @lammermuirwool and managed to keep my hands off her yarn (just)
Had to stop to photograph these two as I headed for the coast!
🧵Thanks for the lovely sales of my wee kits-in-tins this last week or so. New stock in production today of Indigo Patchwork and Indigo Garden tins.
