Four different collections of soft smooth plied thread which works well on cotton and linen, and beautifully on wool. I have dyed these sets to offer you lots of variation. As well as three acid-dyed sets there is a gradient set of indigo threads to enjoy. The slight shade variations in these provide further interest in your stitching.

Brights - summer at the seaside!

Old Rose - soft dusky pinks and a gentle grey

Marine - two blues and two close sea greens, ideal for subtle shading

The blend of Blue Faced Leicester wool and silk offers the best of all worlds. Good coverage and a soft sheen to your stitches.

Length: 24 metres each skein (96 in total)

Content: 55% BFL 45% Silk

Thickness: plied thread - about equivalent to using three out of the six plies of a standard embroidery floss

wool silk thread*****Posted by Maura T on April 9 2024 at 22:47I got a skein of this thread in one of my subscription boxes and had to get some more , it had a lovely feel to it . It slid nicely through the cloth I was embroidering . it had a lovely sheen and I found it didnt snag . The subtle variegation means that you dont have to keep changing thread when you want a nice gradation ie in flower petals or stalks and leaves. I used it to stitch strips of sari ribbon onto a loosely woven calico to make an imaginative landscape type picture. It will eventually become a little drawstring pouch.

I am trying out DMC Eco Vita wool threads on a piece of dyed blanket. No rules, just experimenting. I like the soft colour palette of these naturally dyed organic crewel wools which I found at @mybearpaw a couple of weeks ago. I succumbed to lovely Japanese fabrics there too🤗
