Single skeins - indigo embroidery cottonSingle skeins - indigo embroidery cottonOur price: £2.50ViewIndividually dip dyed in indigo, these cotton embroidery threads are 6-ply. The image shows stitches made with my preferred single ply. This is quite a matt thread.Single skeins cupro - indigo dyedSingle skeins cupro - indigo dyedOur price: £2.50ViewThis recycled cotton is gentle as silk on the hands but strong, with the ply creating a plump rounded thread. Skeins are either semi solid indigo or dip dyed in indigo to give a tonal variation to your stitching. (Make pretty tassels too)Violet alpaca/silkViolet alpaca/silkOur price: £3.50ViewThis blend was first dyed with pale pink then dip dyed with indigo to create a subtle pale-to-dark violet. This is a 2 ply thread.Wool/silk single skeinsWool/silk single skeinsOur price: £2.50ViewSoft smooth plied wool/silk thread which works well on cotton and linen, and beautifully on wool. These shades are dip dyed shades or variegated shades and create interesting effects with the simplets of stitches.
Wool/silk setsWool/silk setsOur price: £9.00ViewFour different collections of soft smooth plied thread which works well on cotton and linen, and beautifully on wool. I have dyed these sets to offer you lots of variation. As well as three acid-dyed sets there is a gradient set of indigo threads to enjoy. I am trying out DMC Eco Vita wool threads on a piece of dyed blanket. No rules, just experimenting. I like the soft colour palette of these naturally dyed organic crewel wools which I found at @mybearpaw a couple of weeks ago. I succumbed to lovely Japanese fabrics there too🤗

I don’t dye yarn no more, but I do dye thread…
These ones coming soon to the Tart’s emporium

A very happy sunny Edinburgh day - lots of quick chats and warm hugs with so many friends old and new at the inaugural Woolly Good Gathering at Summerhall.
🧶
A triumph for the organisers, it was a welcoming inclusive event with space to breathe and so much beautiful yarn and fibre.
🧶
Later a lovely catch up with a dear friend who embraces life to the full in her ninth decade - a role model of the best kind.
