Beeswax is the perfect natural conditioner for threads. It smoothes the fibres, helping the thread to run more easily through your fabric when hand stitching. It thus helps prevent tangles, reduce fraying and drag.

These little wonders are 100% beeswax from a UK apiary. Choose between a dark bee in a honeycomb and a rich golden bar

Use your thumb or finger to hold the thread on the wax as you pull it across the surface. Do it maybe twice and then run your fingers down the thread to remove any residue.

Bees are 4cm in diameter and weigh approx 15gm.

Bars are 7cm long and weigh approx 22gm.

I wrap each shape up to protect it before posting it.

💛Want to build your thread palette without buying to excess?

💚These wee gems will help. I select shades, measure, cut, twist and label them. These mini collections of stranded embroidery cottons contain 2 metres of each of six shades. If you’re a single strand stitcher like me, that’s 144 half metre lengths!

Stranded Selections - seventeen of them - are on the Threads shelf now!
