Ecoprint Stitch Up ll

You can choose to make a pillow-shaped or pyramid style pincushion, or a neat little purse.

I am really delighted to offer these particular workshops where the majority of the fabrics are created by the talented Sarah here in the Scottish Borders, with leaves and flowers gleaned from her village hedgerows and her own garden. Adding stitches in complementary or contrasting shades gives the designs an extra depth and additional texture.

There are no rules, only guidelines, and no prior experience is required. You can use the simplest of stitches to great effect. I will have samples to show, ideas for you to try, guidance on stitches if you want it, and support throughout the morning.

The workshop is suitable for anyone who can safely use a needle. All materials are supplied, including pincushion stuffing and lavender so you can make it sweet smelling too. You are welcome to bring along threads, needles and scissors if you like.

This class takes place at The Granary in Berwick-upon-Tweed. It forms part of the Youth Hostel building and has an excellent café on site. Full joining guidance will be emailed to you, and I am planning a blog post extolling the many attractions of this ancient border town.
