Workshops

glasses case and needlebook in ecoprinted fabrics

Ecoprint Stitch Up l

October 20, 2022, 2:00pm – 4:30pm

Make a needle book or a glasses case to treasure, or to give to someone special.

Soft coloured leaves ecoprint with sample stitched as a glasses case

I am really delighted to offer these particular workshops where the majority of the fabrics are created by the talented Sarah here in the Scottish Borders, with leaves and flowers gleaned from her village hedgerows and her own garden. Adding stitches in complementary or contrasting shades gives the designs an extra depth and additional texture.

There are no rules, and no prior experience is required. You can use the simplest of stitches to great effect. I will have samples to show, ideas for you to try, guidance on stitches if you want it, and support throughout the workshop. This session is suitable for anyone who can safely use a needle. All materials are supplied, although you are welcome to bring along threads, needles and scissors if you like.

This workshop takes place at The Granary in Berwick-upon-Tweed. If forms part of the Youth Hostel building and has an excellent café on site. Full joining guidance will be emailed to you, and I am planning a blog post extolling the many attractions of this ancient border town.

£40

Book any two Berwick workshops and save £5. This will refunded to you at your first workshop.

A quiet day or two of tidying, catching up and stitching. New samples finished and a seed stitch on eco print piece finally done too. It’s been one of my portable projects for a long time - - -

Couldn’t resist these madder dyed skeins at @isleofskyenaturaldyeco last week.

The indigo over dyeing has produced such a pleasing slate shade.
I even know what I am going to knit with them - just not when🤭
Loch Linnhe looking peaceful this morning. We’re heading south now, back to Edinburgh via a last yarn stop…
