Back early 2024 with more packs

STITCH  your STORY

In each kit you will find a metre of African strip woven fabric. It features a fabulous hand spun raw cotton weft full of texture and character. The selvedges on this nominally 12cm wide strip are uneven and the undyed cotton shades vary.

And there are

Twenty x 50cm threads in a range of fibres (linen, cotton, wool)

A rainbow of twelve fabric scraps, including Indian cottons

Trims and a few buttons

 

Use it any way you like; there are so many possibilities!

You can...

Tell a story

Stitch a love letter

Keep a weather record

Rust dye or plant dye it first

Add leaves and twigs and feathers

Make a banner with coloured tassels

Create a snippet roll with your treasures

Sew on scraps of all your favourite fabrics

It's all about experimenting and playing. There are no rules here. Ever.

🪡Deep concentration during a gentle stitching workshop this morning at Abbotsford House with my merry band of travellers. Couldn’t ask for a better setting than the Scottish Borders in which to relax and soak up new textile experiences.
🙏🏻 The only calm space in my workroom is the windowsill. I am packed and ready to lead a week at @abbotsfordscott with a lovely @rowantreetravel group. 🧶 A wee cast-on ready for the simplest ever cowl knitting. The yarns, held together, will do all the talking. One’s a lovely rich 4ply skein dyed by @casserlyalison and t’other is heavy laceweight hand spun wool and silk by spinner ‘OB’ which I bought at @handspinnerskye last year. And the bag? A joyful hand stitched make by @bizzilizzikelso - just the right size for this project🤗
🧵🪡 More prep for Threads Textile Festival @sunnybankmills A board full of samples and descriptions so that you know what’s packed in each kit. Well, some of them - I don’t have space for them all😁
