when will we feel comfortable to share space with strangers?
I Hope to be able to offer workshops, pop-up shops, and talks as soon as it's safe but until then, please shop online and feel free to contact me about bespoke dyeing or any specific products.

The Border Tart
Hello! I'm Lindsay and I live in the Scottish Borders. Colour, texture and pattern are sources of fascination and exploring them in textile and paper form is my absolute pleasure.

I studied textile design, then learned to spin and incorporated my yarns in woven home furnishings for some years.

Hugely inspired by a funded residency in India, I began to explore indigo dyeing and block printing and simple kantha stitching.
This led me to investigate Islamic geometric design .... another love.

I was back in India for more explorations and fabric gathering in January 2020

I dye yarn and fibre with indigo. You can read more about indigo here.
I produce a range of natural fibre yarns to knit, crochet or weave with. They incorporate British wools, cashmere, merino, silk, alpaca and yak. I love to search out interesting buttons and fabrics to offer you too. I produce an ever-changing selection of stitch kits, often inspired by and incorporating Indian textiles.

I co-ran stitching retreats until the pandemic stopped us. I hope to be able to plan some day workshops soon.
