These little kits feature eco-printed cotton or similar fabric by an artist-maker local to me.

Sarah collects leaves and blooms from her garden, the hedgerows and understanding neighbours in a little village in the Scottish Borders. She works her magic with carefully sourced materials, giving new life to rescued deadstock fabrics and utilising natural dyes.

I encourage you to stitch on this fabric, perhaps outlining the leaves, or making little random straight stitches (seed stitch) over the background to create a textured effect. I suggest just one or two strands of the 6-ply embroidery threads at a time in your needle.

As well as a needle and threads, interlining and stylish lining fabric, there is a template and guidance enclosed on to make up your glasses (or mobile phone) case. First, embroider all over the fabric, selectively, or not at all - whatever you like!

The finished size is approx 16cm x 9cm.

Every kit is different, but sometimes I can make more than one kit from the same fabric. These ones can be considered as sisters - same style, same shades, different flower/leaf arrangement but each unique.

Made a project/tote bag with the stripey tweed I bought from @theweavingshed_
Tonight’s job is stitching in the lining. It’s a batik edged remnant from an amazing sari I bought in Kutch 11 years ago😳🇮🇳

Ok, it’s more tunnels and holes than bread and it won’t win any prizes but my spelt Sunday sourdough tastes mighty fine to me!
