Blossom hand stitch kit - Inspired by India

Inspired by India! These stitch kits contain the ingredients to embroider one of four different projects using bright floral block printed cottons.

I was delighted to spot these two bold colourways - to my mind they were just asking to be 'coloured in' using embroidery threads in contrasting or similar shades.

With this kit you can choose to make a project pouch, or a table mat, or a bag for straight needles or a cafetiere cover.

I've designed it to be as easy as possible. There are guidelines to make each item, and you can stitch into the pattern to your heart's content. Simple straight stitches look great but you can use more complex ones, of course. The point is to have fun and make something practical but which is uniquely yours. The images are suggestions only. Use the embroidery skeins included, add your own threads to the mix or even just stitch the whole piece in white.

As a guide, the approximate finished size of the pouch is 24cm x 15cm, and of the mat 44cm x 24cm

The kit contains:

Indian block print cotton

Fine Indian khadi cotton to line it (shot purple in the turquoise pack, deep pink in the pink pack)

Pre-shrunk calico as an interlining

Two skeins of embroidery cotton

A needle

Two pretty buttons (shell buttons in the turquoise pack, birdie buttons in the pink pack)
