P A P E T E R I E

The French term for boxed fancy stationery - so not quite accurate for these collections but I like the word!

There are six types of box and only a few of each type. They contain exotic (and quieter) handmade papers, vintage ones, envelopes and, in each case, 5 metres of natural linen to bind papers into a book if you choose.

I’ve loved creating these for you to experiment with. Stitch by hand or machine, paint and embellish, tear and patch and collage, make art, make cards, make little books or covers for existing ones - enjoy yourself!

Made a project/tote bag with the stripey tweed I bought from @theweavingshed_
Tonight’s job is stitching in the lining. It’s a batik edged remnant from an amazing sari I bought in Kutch 11 years ago😳🇮🇳
